"Neo old-timey tunes with cosmopolitan splashes of
contemporary pop and jazz"
This band fuses American acoustic music with vintage swing, country and Appalachian fiddle tunes, New Orleans rhythms, Georgia Sea Island songs, and creates sparkling originals. Rani Arbo is the lead vocalist, fiddler and founder of the group. Andrew Kinsey, Arbo's singing partner since 1991, plays upright bass and doubles as a multiple instrumentalist on banjo, pennywhistle and ukulele. Anand Nayak's gutsy guitar style forms the backbone of the band's sound. Scott Kessel's world percussion transmits through the "Drumship Enterprise." Formed in December 2000, Rani Arbo & daisy mayhem has been touring the U.S. and Canada for 3 years, playing festivals like the Newport Folk Festival, Winnipeg Folk Festival, Chico World Music Festival, Vancouver Folk Festival, Strawberry Festival, Philadelphia Folk Festival and many more. "Boogaloo, cumbia, salsa, rumba, samba, Afro-beat, R&B, funk and soul"
This 10-piece big band recombines the free-flowing, soulful swing of Havana's clubs with R&B, jazz, hip-hop and Nigerian Afro-beat to create a truly innovative Latin fusion. Lead vocalist Xiomara Laugart's voice has been described as a Cuban hybrid of Macy Gray, Diana Ross and Carmen McCrea. Bandleader and bassist Andrés Levin is lead guitar and musical director. Other band members include percussionist Pedro Martinez; Ron Blake, saxophone, El Chino and Cucu Diamentes, background vocals; Rashawn Ross, trumpet, Dave Kay, guitar; Eli Katz, drums; David Fiuczynski, guitar, Filbert Armenteros, percussion. The Afro-Cuban band has opened for The Dave Matthews Band, headlined the Stern Grove Festival in San Francisco and opened at the Hollywood Bowl earlier this spring and summer. "Stirring up the blues and a big pot of gumbo"
Bluesman Bill Wharton has recorded four blues albums, and been featured everywhere from Dan Akroyd's "House of Blues" radio show to the Food Network's "Extreme Cuisine." (The ultimate tribute came with Jimmy Buffet's
"I Will Play for Gumbo.") Wharton leads his band, The Ingredients, on the slide guitar, playing everything from Muddy Waters songs to field hollers while he mixes up a big pot of gumbo on stage. At the end of the show, audience members are invited to line up and share some stew, soup-kitchen style. The Sauce Boss' "Liquid Summer Hot Sauce" will also be available.

"100% original Stomp Rag Boogie music"
Scrappy's music has been described as a soundtrack to a whacked-out old-fashioned circus. The Asheville band sets down music you'll be dying to dance to, inspired by ragtime, hot jazz, old Louisiana R&B, second-line brass bands, country shuffle, doo wop, Klezmer, Appalachian snake handling diddies, and Rock & Roll. The high-energy quintet includes frontman vocalist/guitarist Scott Kinnebrew, keyboard/vocalist Walker Young, upright bassist Mike Alexander, trumpeter Isaac Stanford, and drummer Bill Smith. The group has two releases available: At Rock Bottom (2000) and Stay on Target (2001). Their namesake was a cartoon boxer from Depression-era comics with a dying wish to be a singer.
