First Night Raleigh 2009
	Say HELLO to 2009 at the BIGGEST PARTY OF THE YEAR! Don't miss FIRST NIGHT RALEIGH 2009 - Artsplosure's 18th annual New Year's Eve celebration of art and community in downtown Raleigh. First Night Raleigh 2009 will kick off with the Children's Celebration beginning at 2 PM at the NC Museums of History and Natural Sciences and outside on Bicentennial Plaza, followed by the People's Procession and Early Countdown at 7 PM. Evening entertainment features music, comedy, dance, and theatre in two dozen downtown locations! Performers include The Smithereens, John Brown and the Groove Shop Band, Claire Lynch, Christine Lavin, Mark Nizer, Fred Garbo Inflatable Theater, Transactors Improv Company, Lenny Marcus Trio, Southern String Band, Elm Collective, Paco Band and more! Admission buttons are on sale from December 1 at Raleigh area Harris Teeter and Rite Aid stores and other local retailers.


	Your First Night Raleigh 2009 admission button gets you more than admission to dozens of performances and activities on December 31, 2008. It can save you money too!

	North Carolina Symphony's New Year’s Eve Concert December 31, 7:30 PM Meymandi Concert Hall, Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts Buy one ticket, get one free with your First Night Button! (prices $40-$60) Get tickets in advance by visiting the North Carolina Symphony Audience Services office in North Hills (M-F, 10am-5pm; 4350 Lassiter at North Hill Ave, Suite 250) or wear your button the night of concert. (Box Office opens at 6:30pm night of concert). Offer is based on availability and is not retroactive. This year's concert is full of fun and features the amazing Time for Three string trio, two violins and a bass taking the classical world by storm, and the talented dancers from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts School of Dance. Music Director Grant Llewellyn promises an entertaining evening to ring in the New Year!

	Dead Sea Scrolls North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences $5 Off regular admission on December 31! Enjoy the final hours of 2008 by visiting the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibition at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences during its extended run in Raleigh. Wear your First Night Raleigh admission button on New Year's Eve to receive a $5 discount off regular exhibition admission prices all day. Tickets on sale up to 7:00 PM, December 31. Exhibition closes at 8:00 PM.
